(Adele e Giovanni)

It all began around the 1940s in Tirano, the homeland of both protagonists of this story. Adele and Giovanni had known each other all their lives as they lived opposite each other, but one day, during a meeting along the banks of the Poschiavino river, love blossomed. At that time Giovanni was enrolled at the University of Engineering in Turin, during the first year of studies he met Adele, who made his heart beat like never before. After spending time together Giovanni understood that his true place was not among books and mathematical formulas, but with his beloved. So he decided to abandon his studies and return to his hometown to do what his parents had taught him, work the land, take care of the vineyards, produce wine and raise livestock.

After about 10 years of engagement they got married and together they ran the farm. Every day they worked hard looking with hope to their future, remembering their first meeting on the banks of the river, that clear water, the reassuring sound of the waves lapping the shore and the sight of the majestic stones, inspired the two young lovers to complete the construction, begun in 1915, of the house of Giovanni's parents, which would become the symbol of their love.

With great determination and countless sacrifices, Adele and Giovanni began completing the building in 1950, using large stones from the Poschiavino river, thus giving their home a timeless solidity and beauty. The house became the place where their daughter Lucia grew up. Unfortunately, Adele and Giovanni's happiness was interrupted by Giovanni's premature death. Left alone, Adele fought with all her strength to keep the house and the memories of their love alive, trying to make sure little Lucia didn't lack anything.

Adele could no longer maintain the farm so she decided to put all of herself into her greatest passion, tailoring, which she continued until her death at the age of 93. Her creations were admired by everyone: evening gowns that seemed to dance on women's skin, wedding dresses full of lace, men's suits that exuded elegance and refinement.

(Ennio e Lucia)

..and it is precisely here that in the room where Adele made her creations, one day Ennio entered, a young charming policeman who casually brought his uniform to be repaired and met the beautiful Lucia, with her blue eyes and her mountain of curly hair. When Lucia and Ennio got married they decided to fix up a floor of the house, where they still live, thus preserving the bond with the home that had seen her grow up and to be able to live together with Adele.

When Arianna, daughter of Lucia and Ennio, was born, the little girl could only know her beloved grandmother Adele, establishing with her a unique, deep bond made of unconditional love. Grandma Adele's greatest wish was that one day Arianna would in turn live in her beloved house together with her family.

Today, after more than 100 years, the house near the banks of the Poschiavino is still there, restored to its natural beauty and a silent witness to the love and determination of Adele and Giovanni, and continues to be a place of warmth and affection for the whole family.
